Prof. Aldona Sopata, Head of Department of Studies on Multilingualism in Institute of Applied Linguistics, Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań; from 2016 Dean of Faculty of Modern Languages and Literatures, Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań. In 2007-2009 she was a fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation in the Collaborative Research Center Multilingualism at the University Hamburg. In 2009 she published a monograph „Erwerbstheoretische und glottodidaktische Aspekte des frühen Zweitspracherwerbs. Sprachentwicklung der Kinder im natürlichen und schulischen Kontext“ („Theoretical and pedagogical aspects of child second language acquisition. Children’s language development in naturalistic and school settings”) on the basis of which she was awarded D. Litt. degree. Her research focuses on early child bilingualism, development of multilingualism, grammar acquisition of first and second language.
